On the Costa del Sol You Don’t Just Live, You Enjoy Life!

Last month, Forbes Magazine voted Malaga city as the tenth best city in the world for Americans to live and invest in. Not a bad position when you consider that established cities, such as Vienna, Madrid, Tuscany, and Basel were also nominated.

The criteria for nominees included the quality of the health system, security, excellent communication and infrastructure, the price of real estate, and the numerous international schools in the area, and along the Costa del Sol.

The Costa del Sol has always been popular for its all-year-round mild climate, great beaches, and relaxed lifestyle. Yet, more often than not, Malaga city was bypassed. With holidaymakers getting off the plane and heading straight to the more popular resort towns of Fuengirola, Marbella and Estepona.

However, in recent years Málaga city has grown in reputation, with many Spaniards and foreign buyers opting for the cosmopolitan city, whether to live permanently, buy a second home or invest in a holiday rental property.

I have witnessed the incredible transformation of Málaga city, with improvements to transport and communication infrastructure, the development of the Muelle Uno port area, and the incredible gastronomical offering. Málaga capital has now become one of the most important cities in Spain, in terms of city and cultural breaks.

One of my favourite projects, which started off in Malaga city is the 200km coastal path (senda litoral) that starts at La Cala del Moral, to the east of Málaga and finishes at Estepona. Each municipal has built its part of the boardwalk; all that remains is for those paths to be linked!

This incredible beach walk is just one of the myriad reasons, why I and all of our international brokers opted for life on the Costa del Sol. My motto is:

“When you choose the Costa del Sol, you don’t live, you enjoy life!”

We enjoy a life full of healthy pursuits and a wonderful environment: golf, beaches, amazing food enjoyed on the beach, and a coast backed by a natural biosphere. My idea of living on the Costa del Sol is November in the sun without a coat, working from home on my terrace with sea views, catching up daily with my Spanish and foreign friends and neighbours, strangers who smile at me and say hello as they pass, all-year-round outdoor sports and whitewashed country villages. Bliss!”

Málaga city and the Costa del Sol is a unique place to live and when high-quality titles, such as Forbes Magazine recognise this, we feel very proud to be living and working here: helping people realise their dream of buying in Málaga city and on the  Costa del Sol.
