SMH Joins the Alliance for Child Vaccination
Every year in Scandinavian Marbella Homes we contribute to a social good. This year we join an alliance for child vaccination, an initiative of the “la Caixa” Foundation.
Our donation will be used to distribute the pneumococcal vaccine in Mozambique and Ethiopia to prevent pneumonia, the main cause of infant mortality due to disease infectious on a global scale.
Every 60 seconds, 3 children die from causes avoidable with simple vaccines.
To end this situation, on 2008, ”la Caixa” Foundation became the first private shareholder in Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance in Europe, and together they created the Business Alliance for Child Vaccination, an initiative that fights against infant mortality in underprivileged regions through vaccinations at a young age.
