Seventeen gourmet food trucks are competing for the title of Spain’s best smash burger — a style of burger known for its crispy edges and juicy, flavor-packed center. But this is more than a contest — it’s a festival of flavors that highlights the creativity of Spain’s top burger chefs and gives visitors the chance to taste, enjoy, and vote for their favorites.
A Boost for Mijas
Launched with an official inauguration by Mayor Ana Mata and local officials, the event reflects the growing role of gastronomy in the identity of Mijas. It’s not only a celebration of taste but also a powerful economic driver, creating jobs, opportunities, and visibility for the town on a national level.
More Than Burgers
While the spotlight is on burgers, the festival offers much more. Guests can enjoy crispy fried chicken from Cheeck’s, artisanal ice creams from Sandgüix, indulgent cheesecakes from Say Cheese, and classic fries from Ybarra Truck. Add to that drink bars, a photo booth, chill-out zones, and a dedicated children’s area, and you have an event designed for the whole family.

Gottan Grill, awarded Best Burger in Spain and Europe 2024, and Faakin Smash, led by popular YouTuber Joe Burger, are showcasing exclusive creations outside the competition.
